Mike Olson, Amr Awadallah, and the rest of Cloudera’s early leaders laid the foundation for a culture of respect, openness, and inclusion from day one. Building on that foundation, in 2016 we formally established a cross-functional Diversity and Inclusion Council to drive our vision: “A Cloudera that reflects the diversity of our communities and fosters an environment where everyone feels that they can be themselves.”
With that vision in mind, we’ve focused our diversity and inclusion efforts on programs shown by research to bring real results: voluntary training, targeted college recruiting, mentoring, and employee-driven diversity teams.
We are incredibly proud that, over the past few months, Cloudera’s diversity and inclusion work has been recognized by two highly respected organizations: Watermark and the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
Impact Award from Watermark
Cloudera was named the winner of Watermark’s Impact Award, given to a company that demonstrates a commitment to advancing women in the workplace. We were honored to accept the award in November at the 22nd annual Make Your Mark Award event, which celebrates leaders who embody the organization’s mission of increasing the number of women in leadership roles by empowering them to make their mark for their companies, careers, and communities.
Corporate Equality Index – Perfect Score
Cloudera also received 100% in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual Corporate Equality Index (CEI) – a perfect score! The CEI evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Because of this score, Cloudera was designated as a ‘Best Place to Work’ for LGBTQ Equality.
At Cloudera, we know that greater diversity leads to greater ideas. We’re truly proud of these opportunities for recognition, and we’re committed to the ongoing effort to foster diversity and a truly inclusive workplace.
