Announcing the Cloudera Accelerator Program for Impala and Apache Spark

Categories: General

Cloudera is leading and defining the Hadoop industry by delivering best-of-breed technologies and working to foster an innovative partner ecosystem. When these two are combined, everyone wins. The newly launched Cloudera Accelerator Program is the next stage, combining the leading frameworks, Impala and Apache Spark, with cutting-edge partner applications.

The Hadoop ecosystem is comprised of dozens of tools, though few have generated as much buzz as Impala and Spark. Impala is the leading analytic database architected specifically to leverage the flexibility and scalability strengths of Hadoop, while providing performance, usability, and SQL compatibility necessary for BI users and analysts. These capabilities have enabled SQL analytics and business intelligence natively against big data for the first time and enabled all of the leading BI vendors to integrate with Impala. Many companies have also started to develop additional applications to run on top of Impala. With the Impala Accelerator Program, we are able to work closely with partners to develop and certify these innovative applications to ensure that customers not only will have access to the leading applications, but these applications will integrate seamlessly with Cloudera’s enterprise data hub.

The Accelerator Program expands Impala’s already pervasive footprint to bring new applications to the enterprise data hub and the leading analytic database. The following partners are participating in the Impala Accelerator Program:

  • Actuate
  • Alteryx
  • Aquafold
  • Birst
  • BPM-Conseil
  • Datawatch
  • Denodo Technologies

Spark has gained popularity as a general purpose data processing framework for batch processing, iterative algorithms, and real-time stream processing. Cloudera has been leading the way and pushing for more elements of the Hadoop stack to integrate with Spark.

As part of this effort, we have been working with partners building on top of Spark to ensure customers have the ability to access the power of Spark across a range of applications – from visualizations to robust querying capabilities to pre-packaged modeling engines . As with Impala, the Accelerator Program ensures that customers will have access to leading applications leveraging Spark that are tightly integrated with Cloudera’s enterprise data hub. The following partners are participating in the Spark Accelerator program:

  • 0xData
  • Adatao
  • Alpine Data Labs
  • Atigeo
  • Diyotta
  • Elasticsearch
  • Knime
  • Platfora
