Accelerate ETL with Syncsort and Dell

Categories: Partners

In last week’s webinar, ETL on Hadoop, we teamed up with Syncsort to talk about how to free up data warehouse capacity and budget and in turn gain better insights into your data. It all starts with understanding your data and the type of systems and workloads necessary to derive value from that data.

As Hadoop matures, there are more and more talks on moving the “right workloads” onto Hadoop. In Wikibon’s Q2 2014 Big Data Survey, it shows that 61% of the data practitioner have shifted one or more workload from the traditional data warehouse or mainframe to Hadoop. But which workloads will deliver the biggest impact? How do you move the data and what tools do you need? And how do you optimize the data movement?

This week at Hadoop Summit, Cloudera is joining Syncsort, Dell, and Intel to offer the first-of-its kind reference architecture (RA) for data warehouse optimization – ETL offload.

This new ETL offload solution includes:

  • A use case-driven Hadoop RA to lower data transformation costs with professional services and support

  • Cloudera Enterprise, Hadoop-based data management platform designed specifically for mission-critical environments

  • Syncsort DMX-h and SILQ, ETL utilities with drag-and-drop interface to reduce ETL job development

  • Dell’s PowerEdge™ R730 and R730xd servers, Dell Networking, Intel® Xeon® E5 2600 v3 processors

With the new data warehouse optimization reference architecture, customers will now have a proven solution to optimize workloads on their data warehouse, complimenting their existing architecture with Cloudera’s enterprise data hub powered by Hadoop. Utilizing Syncsort’s SILQ to identify and DMX-h to quickly and efficiently migrate the workloads and data to Hadoop, customers can effectively scale-up for their present and future big data strategy.

You can learn more about the new Dell | Cloudera | Syncsort Data Warehouse Optimization – ETL Offload RA at our booths at Hadoop Summit, as well as at “Optimizing Your Hadoop Infrastructure” panel presentation on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 5:25 pm.
